The 20-year-old artist, Thabos, started making music in his bedroom closet with a free music mixing app and the microphone on a caseless gold iphone. He dropped his first project, a self-made mixtape called “The Start Up”, on Soundcloud in the summer of 2018. He says he found inspiration in “The Come Up”, a body of work written by his music idol, J.Cole. Thabos quickly gained momentum in his passion for music and honing his skills by releasing a second mixtape, “I Don’t Know What I Want”, later that year on all platforms. His first full length album was titled “I Ain’t My Past” and dropped in 2019 with thousands of listeners from all over his city: Richmond, Virginia. The album was written, mixed, and mastered all by the musical mastermind himself and was completed within 7 months.
