Osay ‘Chapter One…’

Chapter One… is a musical journey where Osay effortlessly showcases her versatility in rhyme and melody.

Osay releases her debut project, the rap/r&b infused EP, “Chapter One…” The project is filled to the brim with hard hitting beats, infectious lyrics, and enough catchy melodies to find yourself singing over and over again, even after the first listen. Written and produced within the span of months, Osay showcases her natural ability of songwriting with songs such Rogue and Off Brand kicking off the EP. Other songs such as Bad Girl (Sinister Mix) and How Many Licks, just ooze of bravado while letting the listener into Osay’s darker intentions. And I’m On High, shows off the more playful side of Osay’s character. Throughout the EP, she totes the line of an r&b songbird and hip hop lyricist, smoothly transitioning her style to fit each beat she encounters.

As a self proclaimed, “90s-head”, it’s not hard to tell where the Chicago native’s influences stem from. Her sound is reminiscent of the musicians of yesteryear, but with a more modernized feel. It’s a fresh take on female rap and captures the essence of Osay’s abilities from start to finish.

With a debut like this, we can only be excited for what’s to come for Osay.

About the artist: Osay is an emerging rapper, singer-songwriter who blends 90s and early 2000s nostalgia into today’s musical landscape. Her sound takes a variety of different shapes from playful, uptempo raps to r&b pop songs. Her subject matter and lyrics are matched only by her personality and charismatic delivery.
