Jon Harris “Destiny’s Calling 2 “

Jon Harris, formally known as J-Holla, is a hip hop music recording artist from Cortlandt Manor, NY. The born and raised New York artist moved to Cortlandt Manor, NY at the age of 8. He started his musical journey after being introduced to FL Studios while attending Copper Beech Middle School but didn’t start making music until high school, he would just record freestyles over his simple beats on his sister’s karoke machine and used his older brothers cassette tapes to record on.

With no musical background Harris made his first musical project in 9th grade attending Walter Panas High School. He said he made 10 CDs and found all 10 in a garbage somewhere around the school; but where this would discourage most it only fueled him more. He would use the next several years improving his talents. It wasn’t until after he graduate Pace University that he released his first official mixtape Destiny’s Calling.

Destiny’s Calling was not just a mixtape but a milestone for Jon. Before this, he had made several projects and gave it out but he mostly got music from the internet because he felt his beats weren’t good enough. This was the first project he made completely by himself as he wrote, produced, recorded, and engineered it by himself, and that was the point for the mixtape; to show the world he how much better he’s gotten. But the mixtape did more than that, it not only showed he was improving but proved that he could do it all by himself.

Now on October 15, 2015 Jon Harris is ready to release the sequel to his classic mixtape. He is releasing Destiny’s Calling 2. Much like it’s predecessor, the mixtape is to showcase his level of improvement but this time he’s comparing to his classic original Destiny’s Calling. And yes there are improvements, MANY improvements. Jon has shown he has improved exponentially in every aspect of his music with this mixtape.

The original Destiny’s Calling which was released in 2012 was unfortunately plague with hiccups Harris needed to over come such as his recording equipment malfunctioning and his music sequencer failing, so the quality was subpar although there was a lot to be said with the content. This new mixtape he combines his writing talent with an upgrade to his hardware which delivers a supreme experience. He continues to dive deep into his life, philosophies and experience to help open the minds of his listeners.
