EMMA DARWISYAH LAUNCHES HER DEBUT SINGLE “MY LOVE” AT SOMA

On 30 November 2025, emerging singer Emma Darwisyah celebrated a milestone in her musical journey with the launch of her debut single, “My Love,” at the School of Music and Arts (SOMA). The event, which began at 3:00 PM, was warmly hosted by her mother, Fazzeleen, and attended by about 40 guests, including family members, friends, musicians, dancers, and her production team. The venue provided a comfortable and intimate setting that perfectly complemented the occasion.

A Journey of Resilience and Discovery

The launch opened with a heartfelt introduction by Emma’s mother, who shared Emma’s inspiring journey. Diagnosed with dyslexia at a young age, Emma struggled academically and faced discouragement in her early pursuits—most notably when she was rejected from ballet training due to her condition. Through these challenges, her mother remained her greatest supporter, helping her discover that singing, not dance, might be her true calling.

This encouragement proved transformative. Music helped Emma grow not only as an artist but also as a person, eventually allowing her to excel in her studies. Her perseverance led her to LaSalle College of the Arts, where she completed her diploma—an achievement that stands as a testament to her determination.

The Birth of “My Love”

During her school years, Emma wrote around 15 original songs, a fact that surprised even her mother. Her stepfather, Syed Mahdzar—a musician and former member of the band Bushman—listened to her compositions and encouraged her to professionally release the two strongest ones.

Emma then began recording at Exuism Record with producer Amyr Abadawn. One of the songs received new instrumentation, featuring guitar and a string section. This track would become “My Love.”

Dedicated to her mother, the song reflects Emma’s gratitude for her mum’s unwavering support, sacrifices, belief, and love. Emotional, sincere, and deeply personal, “My Love” captures the bond between mother and daughter in a powerful way.

An Emotional Live Performance

When it came time for Emma to perform the song live, emotions filled the room. As she reached the final part of the song, she became overwhelmed and cried while singing—an authentic moment that moved many in the audience to tears as well. Her heartfelt delivery highlighted the sincerity behind the music and made the performance unforgettable.

Following the live rendition, guests were treated to the premiere of the “My Love” music video, which was produced on a modest budget yet delivered beautifully thanks to thoughtful editing and creative direction. The video premiered to the public on YouTube later that night at 8:00 PM, but the attendees had the special privilege of being the first to watch it.

A Celebration of Music and Family

After the video screening, the event continued with a performance by Emma’s stepfather Syed Mahdzar and musician Eddy Irwan, who entertained the crowd with two cover songs and one original reggae piece. The lively set added a celebratory vibe to the evening, with guests enjoying the music, sharing food, and capturing memories through photos.

A Memorable Milestone

Behind the event lies a powerful story of perseverance, love, and artistic growth. Emma’s single launch was more than just a music event—it was a testament to the struggles she overcame, the support system that uplifted her, and the passion that drives her forward. For everyone who attended, it was a heartfelt and memorable moment that marked the beginning of Emma Darwisyah’s promising musical journey.
