The son of a Black mother and Japanese father, Silvertone grew up surrounded by musical influences that rarely stayed within the boundaries of a single genre.

On one side were the smooth, intimate sounds of artists like Aaliyah and Sade. On the other were the heavier and more theatrical sounds of Black Sabbath and Panic! At The Disco.

Rather than choosing between those worlds, Silvertone absorbed them.

That contrast can still be heard in the foundation of his music today: seductive melodies sitting beside darker production, vulnerability colliding with intensity, and pop songwriting surrounded by cinematic atmosphere.

Music wasn’t simply something Silvertone listened to, either.

He was a gifted classical musician, becoming a first-chair violinist by the age of 12. But that same year would also become one of the most defining periods of his life when his father tragically passed away.

The loss fundamentally changed his relationship with music.

Instead of allowing grief to silence him, Silvertone began turning emotion into creation.

Turning Grief Into Art

By high school, Silvertone had immersed himself in music production, beginning the process of transforming the emotions he carried into something tangible.

At the same time, he was discovering another important part of himself.

Silvertone began embracing his Queer/Bisexual identity while becoming an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, adding another layer of personal experience to an artistic perspective already shaped by culture, loss, and self-discovery.

Those experiences would eventually become part of the emotional DNA behind his work.

Silvertone’s music doesn’t exist simply to sound dark or cinematic. The atmosphere surrounding it reflects an artist who has spent years navigating contrasting worlds and finding ways to make them coexist.

From Kuru to Danny Silvertone

Before fully stepping into his solo career, Silvertone gained valuable music-industry experience through the Rock/R&B hybrid Kuru.

The experience helped sharpen both his musical instincts and understanding of what it takes to build an artist career beyond the recording studio.

When Silvertone eventually broke out as a solo artist, he began establishing his own universe through projects including INSOMNIA and NOCTURNAL.

Even the titles hinted at where his artistic world was heading.

Night became more than an aesthetic. It became a recurring setting for Silvertone’s music—a place where desire, loneliness, grief, confidence, temptation, and vulnerability could exist simultaneously.

But while his artistic identity continued developing, Silvertone also understood that surviving independently required learning the business behind the music.

In 2024, Silvertone shifted part of his attention toward understanding the machinery of the music industry.

Rather than approaching his career exclusively as a recording artist, he gained additional experience by co-managing rock group Arsenic Kitchen.

It was a strategic chapter in his development.

For independent artists, knowing how to create great music is only part of the equation. Marketing, branding, distribution, management, audience development, and long-term strategy can determine whether that music ever reaches the people it was created for.

Silvertone emerged from that period with both a clearer artistic direction and greater understanding of the business surrounding it.

Eventually, that evolution brought him to Nashville, where the next phase of his career began taking shape.

Silvertone has since signed a distribution deal with Edgewater Music Group / The Orchard, providing a larger infrastructure behind an artist who has spent years developing his sound independently.
