A thought-provoking wordsmith who plays his trade in both the artforms of poetry and Hip-Hop, Andrew Costy aka CSTY is driven by his desire to create. The Canadian-based artist draws from within, painting his reality for the world to experience in broad, bold, chromatic strokes. Growing up in Ontario, Canada, CSTY’s passion for music was shaped by the lack of personal expression that he saw around him. He found his place in hip-hop while freestyling at dorm parties in college, where he graduated with a BA in psychology and a MA in Journalism. Now based in California, Costy has positioned himself to blend the golden era hip-hop sound with modern stylistic choices. The result is his own unique strain of the genre, with tracks like ‘Goodlife’ cementing the artist’s capacity to carve out a name for himself. The track was co-produced by Safakash and went on to amass over 250,000 streams on SoundCloud. As a published poet, he has always had the ability to absorb the world around him and translate his passion to lyrics, with this talent being particularly demonstrated on his 2017 debut LP ‘Gemini Holiday’. His multitude of talents landed a slew of other opportunities and personal accomplishments, including freestyling with hip-hop legend Kurupt in Mexico, electronic duo Phantoms on SiriusXM radio, and smoking with Chance the Rapper in Montreal. Additionally, his music has been featured in Spotify playlists such as Hip-Hop Squads, Spit Melodies, Rap Blazers, Hip-Hop Rebels, Rap Meets Evil and All In Rap. Next up for the West Coast artist is the release of his single ‘Do You Love Me’, a track that will form part of his highly anticipated sophomore album, ‘Looking For More Than This’
