Ricky Drops High-Energy Alternative Single “Better Off Being Dead”

CHICAGO, IL Alternative artist Ricky steps into a darker side of his sound with his new single “Better Off Being Dead” — an energetic and emotionally charged record that blends alternative influences with melodic vocals and raw, vulnerable songwriting

Despite its heavy subject matter “Better Off Being Dead” is driven by an upbeat infectious energy that creates a striking contrast between the sound and the emotions behind the lyrics

The record explores heartbreak attachment loneliness and the feeling of losing yourself when the person you love no longer feels the same way

Ricky turns those emotions into something loud melodic and atmospheric rather than keeping them buried

The song moves between vulnerable verses and a memorable hook built around the central feeling of not knowing how to exist without someone you once depended on

“Better Off Being Dead” represents Ricky’s interest in pushing beyond traditional R&B and melodic rap while embracing a more alternative sound

The result is a record that can feel energetic on the surface while carrying a much darker emotional weight underneath

“I wanted the music to feel alive even though the lyrics come from a really dark place”

With its alternative production melodic delivery and emotionally direct songwriting “Better Off Being Dead” introduces another side of Ricky’s artistry and sets the tone for a sound that blends pain with energy

“Better Off Being Dead” by Ricky will be available on major streaming platforms on October 1st, 2026.
